I was amazed to see, some one who has posted using my id.
I have been actively posting at the blog whose hyper link is published in this blog.
It is high time that word press takes some professional blogging model to moderate these type of identity thefts. This is a major area of vulnerablity and also is a common one at levels of stealing IM ID’s.
When serious users are posting their native views and some creep comes across an creates a distraction like the one which has happened to me. Well if worpress is going to take this lighlty, it would land up like the bots and booting which happens in the chat rooms which is absolutely immature.
Security measures are simple and but to reedeem from the consequences of the victim of the identity theft(S)is going to be traumatic.
Since wordpress has got a dignifed reputation and to maintain that, their technical team should come up with a technical model.
A simple detail displaying the identity as a wordpress member from the particular date of joining would establish the crendential of the ID.
Also the blogs can have a default irreversible hypelink for reporting an abuse. Prevetion is better than cure.
hope the team at wordpress takes it seriously… else i can forsee a cyber warfare due to which the purpose and the concept of bloging would be tarnished.
Since blogging and bloggers are at a nascent stage right now it would be easier to snip this issue before it creates a sour taste and lose all serious bloggers and the wealth of information being shared now would not be available.
